The steadfast faith of Daniel cannot be overemphasized. He is a man that was consistent in his is devotion to God and, because of this, was able to face the prospect of a horrific death with firm resolve.
The account of Daniel being thrown into the lion’s den, is not merely a children’s story. It really wasn’t written for children primarily, but for Jews living in pagan captivity. It was written to give them the courage they needed to stand fast in their faith no matter what pressure or consequences they were to face.
We can learn many valuable lessons from this account including: (1) the fault of faithfulness; (2) The necessity and benefit of daily service to God; (3) The impact we can have on those in power by maintaining an unwavering commitment to God.
