Men and women of faith from ancient times inspire us today. They are honored by the Holy Spirit by being put into the sacred text and held up as examples for the ages. These people from long ago faced incredible difficulties and brutal treatment. Yet, they displayed great faith and remained humble, obedient servants of God.
We want to examine an account of three young men who “quenched the violence of fire”: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego in Daniel 3. They were captives in the land of Babylon who faced pressure to compromise their faith or face the consequence – the burning fiery furnace.
