Jesus refused to become an earthly king when the Jews tried to make Him one (John 6:15). The people were seeking the physical – this world – blessings and benefits. They were following Him to fill their bellies – they were carnal. The Lord, however, pointed them to the manna from heaven – the Bread of Life.
