#28 Gideon: Man of Valor

Do you know who this is? His father was Joash. He defeated Zebah and Zalmunna in battle. He receive over $800,000 in gold booty. His nickname was Jerubbaal (jer uh BAY uhl).

Gideon is one of five judges mentioned in Hebrews 11. He was not a perfect man (Judges 8:27). However, he leaned on God for help and did what God commanded. His faith is why he is listed in the hall of fame of faith in Hebrews and why we ought to study his life.

We will notice lessons, including:

  • God gives evidence and assurance
  • We must tear down the idols
  • The battle is the Lord’s
  • We must stand in the gap
