Sacrifice of The Son Series
“Sacrifice of the Son” is a seven-lesson sermon series that traces the events surrounding Jesus Christ's crucifixion and resurrection, framing them as the culmination of God's redemptive plan set in motion from Genesis 3:15. The series opens by surveying the biblical narrative from the fall of man through the history of Israel, showing how all of Scripture pointed toward the coming Messiah. It then moves chronologically through the final week of Jesus' life, covering the Passover meal and Jesus' prayer in Gethsemane, His arrest and the series of unjust trials before Jewish and Roman authorities, and finally His crucifixion across two detailed lessons that examine both the physical suffering and the spiritual significance of Jesus' words from the cross.
The series concludes with two lessons on Jesus' burial, resurrection, post-resurrection appearances, and ascension. These final installments highlight the sealing and guarding of the tomb, the discovery of the empty grave, and key encounters such as the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, emphasizing that the Old Testament prophets had foretold these events. Throughout the series we draw heavily on parallel Gospel accounts and Old Testament prophecy to underscore a central theme: that Jesus' sacrifice was not a tragic accident but a divinely orchestrated plan for the forgiveness of sins, one that calls for a response of faith, devotion, and grateful obedience from believers.
