This study of church history begins with a look at what the Bible teaches about the church and goes through the centuries of changes introduced by men. There was a widespread apostasy shortly after the 1st century that became know as Roman Catholicism in the west. As time passed, men began to recognize and push back on the errors and corruption in Catholicism which gave rise to the reformation. Eventually, there were some who realized that reforming the established, corrupt religion was not enough. Rather, a full restoration to the New Testament pattern for the church was needed.
