Today, July 4, 2019, marks the 243rd anniversary when 56 men signed the Declaration of Independence. In so doing, they committed Treason against the British Crown. Their decision and actions were not rash, but only after many years of abuse by the government and multiple attempts of redress. The tyranny of an authoritarian government pushed these men to take a stand and break away.
Declaration of Independence
When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature’s God entitles them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness. …
… And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.

I submit to you, our Nation has turned sharply back toward tyranny. Men, women, and children who believe in the Bible and the goodness of the Constitution are being marginalized, ridiculed, and intimidated, not by some foreign power, but by their own government.
This is not because government is corrupt. That is a symptom.
It is not because society is corrupt. That is a symptom.
It is because religion is corrupt. The religions of our land have all but abandoned the morals and principles of the Bible. This is due to a long-ago decision to ignore the doctrines of the Bible.
Religions are corrupt because individuals have allowed it to be so. Men have turned their focus to this world and all of it illusive distractions. They have forsaken the pursuit of righteousness as the paramount purpose of life.
Thus, the way to reform our nation is not simply to complain to neighbors, write letters to representatives, or even march in the streets. The way to reform this nation – any nation – is for people to return to the simple, pure teaching of God’s word.

The freedom the Founders envisioned and on which they staked their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor is rapidly fading.
The way to stop the subjugation and reverse the course is to conquer the hearts and minds of men with God’s word. It must start with you and me.
When enough of us have submitted ourselves to the Lord and have our lives governed by His will, then our influence can bring about a change in this land.
To accomplish this, however, is not easy. It will require no less a commitment than that made by the Nation’s Founders – It will require our lives, fortunes, and sacred honor.
