Our Lord, as David said in Psalm 18,

We will love You, O Lord, our strength.
The Lord is our rock and our fortress and our deliverer;
Our God, our strength, in whom we will trust;
Our shield and the horn of our salvation, our stronghold.
We will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised;
So shall we be saved from our enemies.

Give us wisdom; wisdom to number our days; wisdom to know how to live before You.
We know, O God, that our time on earth is short.
Help us to prepare for our departure and Your Judgment.
Our faith is too often weak and wavering.
Our strength is small; our zeal languishing.

By the blood of Your Son, we beg you to forgive our failings.
We pray for the will and strength to turn away from all sin.

• Pride
• Envy
• Lust
• Hatred
• Vengeance
• Cowardice
• Selfishness

All that is an offense and abomination to You, the Creator of our souls.

Bless us that our lives will be a blessing to others; our

• Wives
• Children
• Brethren
• Neighbors
• Enemies

We seek courage to stand for truth and confront error;
To be like Your Son; with love and compassion; with fidelity to truth and our Redeemer.

In our quest to serve you, may we put Your will above our own.
Help us to be open and honest with Your word;
To allow it to shape our thoughts and deeds;
Not force our will upon Your word.

Bless us that we may be the men you would have us to be.
Bless us as leaders of your people;
as men who have influence with our brethren.
We pray for growth and that our influence will increase – to Your glory, not our own.
May we not shirk our duty; may we not have fear of the path you put before us.
Let us with all boldness take up the challenges You provide;
That we may be stronger, wiser, and more useful in Your kingdom.

Give us the heart to live for you and none other;
To live in a way that when we draw our last breath
It will be with contentment and satisfaction that we have lived
honorably, faithfully, and fully for You.
